Earlier in this blog, I had written about Neend Na Mujhko Aaye, from Post Box No. 999.

A recreated version of the track happened to be one of the songs on the soundtrack of Shaandaar.

In fact, if the seven songs from the film were arranged in the alphabetical order, it would be the fourth.

And if they were arranged in the descending order of their durations, it would be the third – it was four minutes and 16 seconds long.

Saba Azad and Siddharth Basrur wrote the Amit Trivedi composition, which P L Santoshi wrote.

 

Hemant’s classic was recreated Lat(a)er

The subject of this post made it to this playlist purely because I was curious.

I had heard the recreated version of O Neend Na Mujhko Aaye, from the 2015 film Shaandaar (but more on that later).

It did sound familiar, but I had to confirm that, because I didn’t know the film the original song was from.

So, when I looked it up online, I found that it was from the 1958 film Post Box 999.

Lata Mangeshkar and Hemant Kumar sang it.

P L Santoshi wrote the song, which Kalyanji Virji Shah composed.

Lata’s solo’s title was clichéd

When I read the first three words of the title of the subject of this post (Tum Kya Jaano), I could only recall the song from Hum Kisise Kum Naheen (1977).

But there was a song from a film that released 25 years before that.

While Tum Kya Jaano was the common half of the songs’ titles, the next three words of the subject of this post were Teri Yaad Mein.

That song was from Shin Shinaki Boobla Boo, which released in 1952.

P L Santoshi wrote the Lata Mangeshkar solo, which C Ramchandra composed.
